Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Garden

It gives us an immense pleasure to spend sometime in a soothing environment. The perfect place to do so is Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Indian Botanic Garden(Previously known as “Indian Botanic Garden” or “Calcutta Botanic Garden”) which is at a distance of less than 1 km from IIEST, Shibpur. The gardens exhibit a wide variety of rare plants and a total collection of over 12,000 specimens spread over 109 hectares including the world famous “Great Banyan Tree”,which is reckoned to be the largest tree in the world. It is under Botanical Survey of India (BSI) of Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India.It’s one of most famous tourist spots in West Bengal to go to.
